I’ve been down to London to take part in a full schedule of Regional and National Radio interviews helping promote the National Charity Partnerships ‘Winter Warmers’ and ‘Lets do this’ campaign. The aim of the campaign is to get more UK adults moving over the Winter aiming to reach the recommended guidelines of 2.5 hours of moderate activity every week.
I was in the studio alongside Alex Davis, Head of Prevention at the National Charity Partnership (NCP).
My links with NCP come through the West Yorkshire Sport initiative ‘Mums Team’. This initiative aims to get more women involved in leading and participating in regular exercise by helping with fitness qualification, equipment and marketing costs. I personally completed my Leadership in Running Fitness qualification through Mums Team and used this to set up Comets a volunteer led fitness group for women in the Wakefield and surrounding areas. I’m now a Mentor with Mums Team helping more local women access the funding and set up activities.
The Radio day was great fun. Nattering with so many presenters about something I’m passionate about was a brilliant experience.
